MWC Cross Country Athletes of the Week

Air Force's Abe Wengel and Utah's Elise Greenwood-Bahr honored.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Air Force senior Abe Wengel and Utah junior Elise Greenwood-Bahr have been selected as the Mountain West Conference men's and women's cross country athletes of the week, respectively.

Wengel, a Menomonie, Wis., native, won the individual title in the university division at the Woody Greeno Invitational last weekend in Lincoln, Neb. He finished the 8K race in a season-best time of 25:25, leading an Air Force sweep of the top six spots as the Falcons brought home the team victory.

Greenwood-Bahr, from American Fork, Utah, paced the Utes with a first-place finish at the Montana State University Bobcat Invitational on Saturday in Bozeman, Mont. She crossed the finish line in 17:11.12 (three-mile course) as Utah claimed the team title.
