Utah's Jameson and CSU's Roodell Earn Mountain West Conference Cross Country Honors Jameson wins the Colorado State Invitational.

Colorado Springs, Colo. - University of Utah junior Teren Jameson and Colorado State University senior Elizabeth Roodell have been selected as the Mountain West Conference men's and women's cross country athletes of the week, respectively. Competing at the Colorado State Invitational in Fort Collins Sept. 9, Jameson earned a first-place victory in the 8K race with a time of 25:21.4. The CSU meet featured runners from MWC schools Air Force, CSU, New Mexico and Wyoming, and to date, Jameson's time is the fastest in the league. Jameson also earned men's athlete of the week honors last week for another first place finish at the Idaho State Invitational Sept. 2. A native of Taylorsville, Utah, Jameson maintains a 4.0 cumulative GPA in electrical engineering. Roodell, hailing from Eureka, Mont., finished second in the 6K course with a time of 21:28.5. Her time, currently the fastest in the league, led the Rams to a first place finish as Colorado State hosted the meet Sept. 9. Five of Roodell's teammates finished in the top 10 of the competition to seal the first-place victory.
Coming up: Utah gets a weekend off before heading to the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn., Sept. 23, while Colorado State travels to the Iowa State Invitational in Ames, Iowa, Sept. 16.
