Mountain West Conference Cross Country Athletes Of The Week
CSU's Kintzley and Nicks garner weekly honors.
Sept. 11, 2001 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado State University sophomore Mike Nicks and junior Jennifer Kintzley have been selected as the Mountain West Conference men's and women's cross country athletes of the week, respectively. Nicks, a native of Colorado Springs (Doherty HS), led the Colorado State men to a second place finish at the Rams' Runners Roost Invitational on Sept. 8 in Fort Collins. He was the first Ram to finish the 8K race, placing second overall (out of 102 runners) with a time of 25:12.9. Kintzley also competed at the Rams' Runners Roost Invitational and finished the women's 6K first overall with a career best time of 21:16.2. With her victory in Fort Collins, the LaPorte, Colo. native helped the Rams to their second consecutive team victory of the season.
After a two week hiatus, the Colorado State men's and women's team will return to action on Sept. 29 at the Roy Griak Invitational in St. Paul, Minn.
