COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State junior Meryl Follosco has been selected as the Mountain West Conference women's cross country athlete of the week.

Follosco, from Cypress, Calif., finished 16th (11th among collegiate competitors) in her first collegiate race at the Fullerton Season Opener at Carbon Canyon Regional Park in Brea, Calif. She posted a time of 19:03.0 in the 5K race, helping the Aztecs to a fourth place finish.
