Colorado Springs, Colo.--University of Utah junior Teren Jameson and Colorado State University freshman Katie Yemm have been selected as the 2000 season's first Mountain West Conference men's and women's cross country athletes of the week, respectively.

Jameson was the first to cross the finish line at the Idaho State Invitational on Sept. 2 with a time of 19:19.02. The Taylorsville, Utah, native was instrumental in leading the Utes to a 2nd place finish behind 16th ranked Weber State University. Three other teams finished behind Utah.

Yemm, a native of Fort Collins, Colo., won the 4K course with a time of 14:10 in her collegiate cross country debut. Yamm competed at the Wyoming Invitational Sept. 1st and led three of her teammates across the finish line as the Rams posted four of the top six times.

Next up: Utah heads to Fort Collins, Colo., to join Colorado State University in the Colorado State Ram Invitational Sept. 9th at the Collindale Golf Course, the site of the 2000 MWC Cross Country Championship.
