COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Wyoming senior Mark Korir and Colorado State redshirt freshman Ellie Rastall have been selected as the Mountain West Conference men's and women's cross country athletes of the week, respectively.

Korir, hailing from Eldoret, Kenya, won his second-consecutive Wyoming Invitational last Friday with a time of 21:45:00, leading the Cowboys to a second-place finish against a field that included Conference rivals Air Force and Colorado State. Korir, who set a record at last year's meet with a time of 21:42.07, missed the record by only three seconds during this year's 6.8K race, but he managed to cross the finish line 18 seconds before the second-place competitor.

Rastall, a Fort Collins, Colo., native, clinched the women's title at the Wyoming Invitational in her first official race with Colorado State. Her 4K time of 14:49.50 helped the Rams to their fifth-consecutive first-place finish at the Invitational. The Rams placed rive runners in the top-ten spots on the way to the title, defeating host Wyoming by 28 points.
