April 11, 2007

Colorado State cross country coach Bryan Berryhill today announced the signing of two student-athletes to National Letters of Intent. Both Allison Gohl and Lauren Kleppin will enroll at Colorado State in the fall of 2007.

Allison Gohl (Distance, Westminster, CO/Northglenn HS)

Gohl finished 3rd in the 3200 meters at the 2006 Colorado 5A State Track and Field Championships and was 4th at 2006 Colorado State 5A Cross Country Championships. She then finished the season very strong by placing 13th at the Foot Locker Midwest Regional Championships and 14th at the USA Junior Cross-Country Championships.

Berryhill on Gohl:  "Allison has all the tools required to be a very successful collegiate distance runner," stated Berryhill.  "She has the work ethic and mental toughness that is required to excel at the Division I level.  She's the kind of person that when you meet her you just know she will be successful.  We're just thrilled to be adding such a tremendous athlete, student, and person to the Ram family."

Lauren Kleppin (Distance, Milwaukee, WI/South Milwaukee HS)

Kleppin was the Wisconsin High School Division 1 State Champion in cross country in 2006, posting an undefeated season until she finished 22nd at the Foot Locker Midwest Regional Cross Country Championship.

Berryhill on Kleppin:  "We're very excited to add someone of Lauren's level to our program," Berryhill said. "Lauren is a tremendous athlete, person and student. She is a proven winner and will bring that winning attitude to the Division I level. We're looking for great things from her at Colorado State."
