COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Three UNLV women's cross country student-athletes were named to the 2001 Mountain West Conference Academic All-Conference team.

Junior Jessica Zarndt (Las Vegas) and freshmen Tiffany Sims-McCray (Houston, Texas) and Jennifer Turk (Newbury Park, Calif.) were honored among 68 cross country scholars in the league.

Zarndt, the Rebels' top harrier this past season, holds an outstanding 3.81 grade-point average in kinesiology, while McCray is an undeclared major with a 3.47 GPA. Turk is also majoring in kinesiology carrying a 3.25 GPA .

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution, maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better and be a starter or significant contributor to the team.
