The Air Force cross country team placed 11 runners on the Mountain West Conference all-Academic team. Six women and five men received the academic honor.

Senior Elissa Ballas, juniors Anne Chumlea and Jean Taylor, sophomore Cindy Dawson, and freshmen Andrea Pinchak and Vivien Aspden were all selected for the 2002 fall season. This is Ballas, Chumlea and Taylor's third consecutive honor and Dawson's second.

Senior Jim Blech, junior Ben Payne, sophomore Brian Dumm and freshmen Jeff Gosselin and Nick Wilson were also selected. This is Blech's second honor as all-Academic MWC.

To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one semester term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and be a starter or significant contributor. A closer look at AFA's honorees follows:
