COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Mountain West Conference announced its 2002 Academic All-Conference team today for the sports of men's and women's cross country. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and be a starter or significant contributor to the team.

Eighty-two student-athletes earned MWC academic honors in 2002 for the sports of men's and women's cross country. BYU had the most honorees with 17, followed by Utah with 13. Colorado State and the Air Force Academy were next up with 11 each, while New Mexico and Wyoming both had 10. Rounding out the list is San Diego State and UNLV (five).
