Air Force Cross Country Runners Finished In The Mountain Region's Top 10 NCAA Mountain Region Cross Country Championships--Provo, Utah

U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. - The Air Force Academy men and women's cross country teams finished fifth and seventh, respectively, in the NCAA Mountain Region on Saturday. Three Falcons earned all-region honors, David Romero, Benjamin Payne and Brandess Pardue. Since going Division I in 1996, Pardue is the first-ever female cross country runner in Academy history to compete nationally. Air Force's men's team earned its fourth berth to the NCAAs in Greenville, S.C. Nov. 19. Romero finished seventh in the men's 10K in 31:24.1, Payne finished 20th with a time of 31:55.5. Pardue finished 23rd in 22:43.9 in the women's 6K. Individual runners for Air Force were: Albert Kelly, 29th (32:10), Chris Acs, 36th (32:17.8), Brian Carpenter, 41st (32:30.3), Jim Blech, 68th (33:28.5), Brian Dumm, 88th (34:34.4). In the women's race, Air Force runners were: Elissa Ballas, 44th (23:16.7), Anne Chumlea, 52nd (23:25.1), Kelly McPherson, 59th (23:38.8), Lara Coppinger, 69th (23:51.4), Cindy Dawson, 79th (24:08.2) and Jean Taylor, 103rd (25:02.6) Men's 10K Team Results: 1.
