UNLV Runs At MWC Championships Rebels finish ninth at league meet on Saturday.

OREM, Utah - UNLV women's cross country finished ninth overall at the 2009 Mountain West Conference Championships, which was held Saturday morning at the Cascade Golf Course and hosted by BYU. New Mexico won both the women's and men's team titles, as the Lobo women the crown for the second consecutive year with a total of 24 points. BYU was second with 45 points and Colorado State finished third with 64 points. Air Force (124), Wyoming (165), Utah (195), TCU (196), San Diego State (207) and the Rebels (210) rounded out fourth through ninth places. BYU runner Cecily Lemmon won the individual title, covering the 6k course in a time of 20:47.40, which is the second-fasted time in MWC Championship history. Lemmon was more than 23 seconds ahead of Ruth Senior of New Mexico, who came in second with a time of 21:10.70. UNLV's top finisher was senior Bailey Kuestermeyer, who came in 31st with a time of 22:57.0. She was followed by Lucy Beuster (24:.09) in 45th, Lexie Bravo (24:05.5) in 47th, Lauren Petersen (24:08.8) in 49th, Ali Motor (24:22.7) in 52nd, Courtney Allen (24:56.4) in 64th and Amber Throop (27:05.6) in 72nd. The Rebels will have next weekend off then continue their season at the NCAA West Regional, which will take place at Eugene, Ore., on Nov. 14.
