    FORT COLLINS, Colo.- Brigham Young University took first place in both the men's and women's Mountain West Conference Cross Country Championships today, with the women scoring 16 points and the men totaling 30 to repeat as champions.

    Colorado State finished in second place in both races, with senior Bryan Berryhill winning the men's 8000 meter race in 24:52.8. Elizabeth Roodell led the women's squad with a seventh place finish (21:25.7). The women's race winner was Lindsey Thomsen from BYU, who finished the 6000 meter course in 20:49.7.

    Colorado State head coach Del Hessel was honored as the Mountain West Conference men and women's coach of the year by a vote of his peers. Thomsen was named women's athlete of the year, while Berryhill earned the men's honors. Freshmen of the year awards went to Katie Martin and Josh Rohatinsky, both from BYU.

    First-team all-conference honors went to the top seven finishers on both sides, while eighth through 14th places received second-team honors.
