Utah Cross Country Competes At MWC Championships Teren Jameson receives MWC runner of the year.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The University of Utah cross country teams competed at the Mountain West Conference championships in Albuquerque, N.M. on Oct. 27. The men's team finished third in the conference and the women's team finished fourth. Teren Jameson and Colby Frazier were named to the 2001 MWC Men's All-Conference First Team this year, and head coach Brian Appell receives the 2001 MWC Coach of the Year. Jameson was named the 2001 MWC Runner of the Year. Teren Jameson led the men's team finishing first (23:54) for the fourth time this year. Colby Frazier finished seventh (24:37) followed by Nephi Tyler at15th (25:04) Lion Gallegos at 19th (25:09) and BJ Christensen placing 21st (25:18). Elise Greenwood was the first Utah runner to cross the finish line for the women's team placing 20th (22:39) followed by Trina Bateman at 23rd (22:50), Tara Hall at 27th (23:06) and Julie Osguthorpe finishing 29th (23:08).
