LARAMIE, Wyo. - The Colorado State men's cross country team swept the top four spots and the women's team took eight of the top nine sports at the 2002 Wyoming Open Cross Country Meet this afternoon.

Mike Nicks paced the men's squad in the four-mile race with a time of 21:42, while freshman Matt Ciancuilli was right behind him in 21:44 and BYU transfer Ammon Larsen and Josh Glaab both finished with times of 21:52 for third and fourth place, respectively.

Jennifer Kintzley won the women's four-kilometer race in 15:03, while Katie Yemm, Brittanie Saunders, Danielle Korb, Kim Watson, Crystal Clark, Marry Ridder and Colleen Blair finished third through ninth, respectively for the Rams.

The men won the meet with 18 points ahead of UC Colorado Springs in second (52 points), host Wyoming in third (61) and Denver and Colorado Northwestern CC rounding out the field. The women won the meet with 19 points, while UCCS was second (60, Wyoming was third (68), and Denver, Northern Colorado and Colorado Northwestern CC rounded out the women's field.

Colorado State will host the Ram Invitational next Saturday at the Collindale Golf Course in Fort Collins.
