Colorado State today announced the signing of two more track & field athletes to National Letters of Intent. Both Sulaiman Sayyid and Tim Sterrenburg will join the Rams in the fall of 2006.

Sayyid, from Erie, Colo., won the state championship in the 100 meters as a junior in 2005 and followed it up with a second place finish in 2006 at Broomfield High School. As a sophomore in 2004, Sayyid finished third in the 100 meters. In the 200 meters, he was eighth as a sophomore, second as a junior and 10th as a senior.

"Sulaiman should come in and contribute immediately to our program," said sprints coach Tim Cawley. "He is extremely talented and I look forward to the opportunity to work with him."

Sterrenburg will join the Rams from Phoenix, Ariz., and Mountain Ridge High School. He placed second in the state in both the 110 and 300 meter hurdles at 5A, then finished second in the 300 hurdles at the 2006 Meet of Champions and second in the Great Southwest Meet.

"Tim will make an immediate impact at CSU," said hurdles coach John Carter. "He has the size and speed to be one of the best in the Mountain West and having a year to run with Justin Hazzard and Kyle Keeler will only help him grow."
