June 29, 1999

SAN DIEGO - San Diego State track and field senior and two time All-American, Miesha McKelvy, finished second to Olympian Gail Devers in the 100-meter hurdles at the USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon last Sunday. In the semifinals McKelvy broke the 20-year old SDSU record of 12.86 held by Deby LaPlante with a 12.82. In the finals she ran a wind aided time of 12.67.

Second-place qualified McKelvy for the U.S. team which will compete at the world championships this August in Seville, Spain. She also plans on competing at the Pan-American Games in Canada later this summer.
