University of New Mexico assistant track and field coach Lori Nolte will host the first annual Nolte Jump Camp on July 6-9 at the Great Friends of UNM Track Stadium. The camp geared towards track and field athletes, ages 10-18, with specific drills focusing on the long jump, high jump and hurdles. There will also be a general skills session on Friday for youngsters ages 10 and under. The cost for the camp is $25 per day or $70 for the week.

Nolte just competed her second year with New Mexico, where she coaches the jumpers and heptathletes. One of the top young coaches in the region, Nolte was a talented heptathlete at the University of California before beginning her coaching career.

Nolte helped several Lobo athletes enjoy outstanding seasons in her collegiate coaching debut in 2003. Senior Keren Sari-Bentzur was the High Point Award winner at the Mountain West Conference Indoor Championships after scoring a remarkable 30 points in the pentathlon, long jump, triple jump and high jump. Sari-Bentzur won both the pentathlon and long jump, then went on to earn all-MWC honors outdoors in the long jump and make her second straight NCAA Championships appearance in the heptathlon. Junior Erin Johnson, meanwhile, capped her finest collegiate season by earning a berth in the high jump field at the elite NCAA Midwest Regionals. On the men's side, Hank Baskett was an all-MWC performer and regional qualifier in the high jump, while Willie Yuen was an outdoor conference scorer for the first time in the triple jump.

This past season, Baskett captured the 2004 MWC outdoor high jump title, while Yuen placed a career-best fourth in the triple jump. True freshman Steffany Setliff and sophomore Suzanne Nguyen, meanwhile, scored in MWC heptathlon and pentathlon competitions, respectively.
