Five Colorado State University track and field athletes competed over the weekend at the USA Track and Field Championships in Indianapolis, Ind.

Freshman Jennifer Ugochukwu placed second in the women's shot put, qualifying for the 2007 Pan American Junior Athletics Championships, June 6-8 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Ugochukwu posted a mark of 48-80.

Freshmen Cameron Carter and Tanesha Johnson also competed in the Junior Nationals. Carter placed ninth in the men's discus with a toss of 171-00. Johnson also finished ninth in the women's triple jump, posting a distance of 39-7.0.

Senior Janay DeLoach and junior Jason Schutz competed in the Open. DeLoach placed seventh in the women's long jump with a leap of 21-00.5. Schutz posted a throw of 182-00 in the men's discus to place 12th.
