Carson, Calif. - TCU sprinter Otis McDaniel finished second in the 200 meter dash at the USA Junior National Championships Friday in Carson, Calif., earning a spot on the U.S. Junior National team.

McDaniel, a freshman at TCU, ran a time of 20.96 seconds to earn the silver medal at the Junior Championships, which is for athletes 19 years of age and younger. He has the opportunity to compete later this summer at the Junior PanAm Games, which will be held in Toronto, Canada.

McDaniel, who is also a wide receiver on the TCU football team, earned all-conference accolades during the 2005 outdoor track & field season.
