INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - After earning All-America honors as a member of TCU's 4x100 relay team earlier this month, Deborah Jones looked to continue her successful month of June at the 2007 AT&T USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday.

Held at the IU Michael A. Carroll Track and Soccer Stadium on the IUPUI campus, Jones competed in the first round of the 400 meters. Jones entered the event having advanced to the semifinals in the 400 meters at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships and following a Mountain West Conference title in the event.

Unfortunately, Jones' unable to carry her recent success over to Thursday's race, where she placed 23rd. Competing in the third of four heats, Jones posted a time of 54.21 and finished sixth in the heat.

Natasha Hastings of South Carolina turned in the fastest mark of the day with a mark of 51.07. The top 16 runners advanced to the 400-meter semifinals.

The next TCU student-athlete scheduled to compete at the championships is Otis McDaniel, who will run in the first round of the 200 meters on Saturday at 3:05 p.m. Also competing for TCU will be Jonathan Jackson in the triple jump on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
