The Colorado State track and field team today had four student-athletes named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District men's women's track & field/cross country teams. Junior Haley Hunt was named to the first team, while Alex Godell, Katie Lloyd and April Thomas were all second-team honorees.

Hunt is a junior Health & Exercise Science major with a perfect 4.00 grade point average. She advanced to the NCAA Regional for the third time in her career, finishing 11th in the hammer throw. She also placed fifth in the hammer and sixth in the discus at the Mountain West Conference Championships in early May.

Godell is a sophomore majoring in Economics with a 3.94 gpa. He redshirted the outdoor season, but finished fifth in the weight throw and seventh in the shot put at the Mountain West Indoor Championships at the end of February.

Lloyd will be competing next week at the NCAA Championships in the heptathlon. She is the school record holder in both the indoor pentathlon and outdoor heptathlon and has won the last two Mountain West heptathlon titles and won the pentathlon title during the indoor championship. She is a junior Landscape Horticulture major with a 3.63 gpa.

Thomas also holds a perfect 4.00 gpa and is a sophomore majoring in Biological Science. She also advanced to the NCAA Regionals, finishing eighth in the 5000 meters. Her personal best performance of 17:10.59 at the Mountain West Championship earned her Mountain West All-Conference honors with a second-place finish.

Hunt is eligible for Academic All-America honors and her name will be forwarded to the national ballot. Voting by the committee begins on June 6.
