FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Four Colorado State track & field student-athletes earned automatic bids to the NCAA Outdoor Championship at the University of Texas and another four earned at-large berths.

The Rams will send four men and four women to the NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas, June 9-12. Junior Mike Nicks won the steeplechase at the NCAA Midwest Regional to earn a bid and junior Loree Smith won the hammer and placed second in the discus to advance in both events. Freshman Magnus Lohse also qualified in the men's shot put and sophomore Haley Hunt advances in the hammer after she placed second.

Earning at-large bids are junior Cristina Gourdin in the heptathlon, senior Keela Niemeyer in the discus, senior Austin Vigil in the 10,000 meters and senior John Woods in the 200 meters.
