PROVO, Utah - In this week's USA Track & Field Power Ranking, the BYU men's team clinched the top spot while the BYU women's team took third.

The men's team beat out top teams like the University of Minnesota and the University of Florida, who both took second in the Big Ten and SEC Championships last week. The Cougars also earned the No. 22 spot in the Trackwire Power Rankings this week.

In a close race, the women's team came within three points of No. 2 University of Nebraska, who won silver at the Big XII Championships. Both teams were edged by No. 1 UCLA, who recently captured the Pac-10 outdoor title.

Last week BYU came away with two titles at the Mountain West Conference Outdoor Championships in Las Vegas, which marks the fourth year both teams have won both indoor and outdoor titles in the last five years.

After such a great finish at conference, the Cougars look to continue their success as they prepare to compete at the NCAA Regional Championships at Cal State Northridge on May 28-29.
