Teren Jameson of the University of Utah cross country and track and field teams has been named to the Verizon Academic All-District VIII first team. He is one of two repeat members and will now be placed on the Verizon Academic All-America ballot. Members of the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) select the members of the academic team by voting on athletes who carry a 3.2 GPA or higher and are important contributors to their squads. Jameson, one of 20 athletes representing 11 different schools on the all-district team, boasts an outstanding 3.98 GPA in electrical engineering. The senior recently placed first (14:57.49) in the 5,000-meter run at the Mountain West Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Colorado Springs, Colo.
