All-Mountain West Outdoor Track & Field Teams Announced

The Mountain West announced its Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field all-Conference teams today. All-MW selections are awarded to the top three finishers in each event.

On Saturday, the Conference announced the Mountain West Men's and Women's Coaches of The Year, High Point and Outstanding Performance award recipients. This year's MW Men's Coach of the Year award was given to BYU's Mark Robison, who guided the Cougars to their 12th consecutive team title at the 2011 MW Outdoor Track & Field Championships. On the women's side, BYU's Patrick Shane earned the award after coaching the Cougars to their 10th Conference crown.

TCU's Charles Silmon earned the Men's Outstanding Performance award, after setting a new MW Championship record in the men's 100-meter dash, clocking a prelim time of 10.20 seconds. UNLV's Amanda Bingson notched the second-best women's hammer throw mark in MW outdoor championship history. The junior's mark of 228'-6.00" (69.65m) earned her the Women's Outstanding Performance award.

BYU's Leif Arrhenius became the fourth-straight Cougar to be awarded the MW Men's High Point award with 26 points. The senior claimed titles in the shot put and discus throw, while earning third-place honors in the hammer throw. The women's award went to San Diego State's Whitney Ashley, who racked up 25 points competing in three championship events. In individual competition, she won titles in the discus throw and shot put, respectively. Ashley also garnered fourth-place accolades in the hammer throw.
