Christin Shibley Receives NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship SDSU pole vaulter earns NCAA scholarship
March 28, 2008 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State track and field senior Christin Shibley has been named a recipient of the 2008-09 Ethnic Minority and Women's Enhancement Postgraduate Scholarship for Careers in Athletics given annually by the NCAA. The NCAA awards 13 scholarships to ethnic minorities and 13 scholarships to female college graduates who will be entering their initial year of postgraduate studies. The applicant must be seeking admission or have been accepted into a sports administration or related program that will help the applicant obtain a career in intercollegiate athletics. Shibley, a product of Palmdale, Calif., competes in the pole vault and will be making her second consecutive appearance at the NCAA West Regionals later this year after having twice cleared NCAA regional qualifying heights this season. The goal of the enhancement programs is to increase the pool of and opportunities for qualified minority and female candidates in intercollegiate athletics through postgraduate scholarships.
