Colorado Springs, Colo. - University of Wyoming junior Quincy Howe and Air Force Academy freshman LaTravia Robinson have been named Mountain West Conference Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively.

Howe placed first in the triple jump with a mark of 53'1 1/2" (16.19 m) at the Wyoming Invitational Jan. 20. That mark not only set a school and War Memorial Fieldhouse record but is also the second best triple jump mark in the nation. He also earned a first-place finish in the 55-meter high hurdles with a time of 7.55. At the Kansas State Invitational Jan. 13, he also recorded a first-place in the triple jump with a mark of 52'4 3/4", which qualified the Perrylands, Trinidad native for the 2001 NCAA championships provisionally.

In the first collegiate meet of her career, Robinson shattered a 16-year old school record in the triple jump with a leap of 38'11.75" at the All-Comers Meet at Air Force Jan. 13, which earned her a first-place finish. The previous record was a mark of 38'2 3/4" set in 1985. The freshman from Waynesboro, Ga., also leaped to a second place finish in the long jump with a mark of 17'6."

Wyoming and Air Force next compete in the Air Force Invitational Jan. 26-27 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
