COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Wyoming junior Jason Gervais and sophomore Adelaide Harper were named the inaugural Mountain West Conference Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for their performances last week.

Gervais, a native of Timmons, Ontario, Canada, broke the school record in the shot put with a mark of 63’ 1 1/4" at the Air Force All-Comers Meet in Colorado Springs, Jan. 15. With that throw, he automatically qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships. In addition to his second-place finish in the shot put, Gervais finished tied for second in the 35-pound weight throw with a throw of 69’ 7”.

A native of Kingston, Jamaica, Harper broke the school record in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.50 at the Air Force All-Comers Meet in Colorado Springs, Jan. 15. Her time, good for first place in the event, broke the previous record of 24.72 held by Trecia Roberts set in 1992.

Wyoming is back in action this weekend at it hosts the Wyoming Open on Fri., Jan. 21, and the Cowboy/Cowgirl Classic on Sat., Jan. 22.
