COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - TCU sophomores Bradley Reed and Virgil Hodge have been named Mountain West Conference Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively. It's the first career weekly honor for both recipients.

Reed, a Greenville, Texas, native, started the 2006 season with a first place finish in the 60 meter dash at the Arkansas Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., last Friday. In a meet that featured top-ranked Arkansas and No. 12 Texas A&M, he clocked an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 6.64 to bring home the victory. His time was not only a career-best mark, but the second fastest all-time in MWC history.

Hodge brought home a second place finish in the 200 meter dash and a third place finish in the 60 meter dash at the Arkansas Invitational. In the 200 meter race, the Bronx, N.Y., product, crossed the finish line in a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 23.89, which is the fifth fastest time in conference history. In the 60 meter competition, Hodge clocked a time of 7.51 for the third place finish. The women's competition featured No. 13 Texas A&M and 20th-ranked Kansas State.
