BEDFORD, England - Rising sophomore Lucy Yates of the University of Utah track & field team placed fourth in the 800-meter race this week at the Bedford International Athletics Stadium.

Yates qualified for the final heat with a time of 2:10.00 in the preliminary before improving to fourth place in the final race by clocking in at 2:08.71. Yates' fourth-place finish was just one spot shy of earning a medal at the meet.

Earlier in the week, Yates built up a solid foundation of confidence after setting a new 800-meter lifetime best of 2:07.33 at the BMC Grand Prix.
