EUGENE, Ore. - Rising sophomore Langley Iverson represented the University of Utah track & field team in the high jump at the USATF Junior Outdoor Championships Saturday at Hayward Field.

Unfortunately, Iverson was unable to clear a height in the event.

"We knew this was going to be a tough meet for Langley because she hasn't competed in a month (since the NCAA West Regional)," Utah associate head coach Burke Bockman said. "But she competed hard and hopefully she will be able to take some things away from competing against the best in the USA and build on it next year."

As a freshman, Iverson won the high jump at the Mountain West Conference Outdoor Championship at a height of 5'8.75".

"It was a great season for her and we are very proud of our conference champion," Bockman said.

Iverson was competing for a spot in the 2009 Pan American Junior Athletics Championships, July 31-August 2 in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad & Tobago.
