Arevalo, Mortensen Compete at NCAA Championships

June 8, 2005 - SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Two University of Utah athletes took part in the 2005 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Sacramento State University over the weekend. Delfino Arevalo took part in the 10,000-meter run, while Vanessa Mortensen competed in the hammer throw.

Both Utah athletes competed on Thursday at Hornet Stadium.

Arevalo was 19th in the 10,000-meter run. He finished the race in a time of 29:54.48. Mortensen was 25th in the preliminary round of the hammer throw. Her best toss was 177-7. Mortensen did not qualify for the finals in her event.
