Colorado State junior Katie Lloyd is 14th at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship after the first day of the heptathlon.

Lloyd began the day with a 14.49 in the 100 hurdles for 910 points and 11th place after the first event. In the high jump she cleared 5-7.75 for 879 points, which moved her into 10th position with 1,789 points. She then put the shot 38-1.25 for 635 points and an overall ranking of 11th. In the final event of the day, Lloyd ran a 26.56 for 749 points to end the day in 14th place with 3,173 points.

Lloyd will conclude competition tomorrow with the long jump, javelin and 800 meters.
