Colorado State junior Kevin Johnson finished 13th at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship in the decathlon. Johnson came into the NCAA ranked 24th and moved up 11 spots to place 13th in his first NCAA Championship experience.

Senior hammer thrower Jaimee Troth finished 17th with a throw of 189-11 and did not advance to the finals. Troth ends her career ranked second in school history with her best throw of 197-2 from two weeks ago at the NCAA Regionals in Austin, Texas.

Johnson ran a 15.77 in the 110 meter hurdles, then threw 131-1 in the discus and cleared 14-1.25 in the pole vault. In the javelin, he threw a personal best throw of 170-0 and ended the competition with a 5:03.23 in the 1500 meters.

"The day was going slow until the javelin," said Johnson. "I pr'ed by five feet or so and stayed consistent throughout and that's what I wanted to do. I wanted to get something good out of the day and there were good conditions, so I was happy with the whole javelin series."

The lone remaining competitor for Colorado State at the NCAA Championships is junior Katie Lloyd, who begins the heptathlon tomorrow morning.
