PALO ALTO, Calif. - UNLV senior Tianika Sharrieff (Euless, Texas) tied for 14th in the finals of the high jump on the final day of the 2003 NCAA Track and Field West Regionals held at Stanford's Cobb Track and Angell Field.

Sharrieff cleared 5-05.25 feet (1.66m) as did Cal State Northridge's Natoya Woods for 14th. Washington State's Whitney Evans won the event title with a leap of 5-10.50 (1.79m).

A four-year letterwinner for the Rebels, Sharrieff closes out her career as the school record holder in the indoor high jump (5-10.00) and remains the UNLV freshman record holder in the outdoor high jump (5-08.75). The regional meet marked her first NCAA postseason appearance.

The top five finishers in each event out of the four regional sites around the nation advanced to the 2003 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on June 11-14 in Sacramento, Calif.
