Norman, OKLA. - Colorado State senior Adam Trainor completed the sweep of hammer titles for the Rams at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship today, winning the event with a throw of 217-9. Junior Jace Rivera finished third in the same event, also earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships in two weeks in Sacramento, throwing a personal best 211-0.

Senior Mike Nicks finished third in the steeplechase, running an 8:47.60 to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships - where he will be competing for the third time in his career.

Junior Katie Hansen finished sixth in the discus throw, while junior Jill McCormick placed 15th in the discus and 14th in the shot put. Junior Amanda Huddleston took ninth place in the triple jump after a leap of 40-5.5 and freshman Linnea Pudwill, competing in just her second steeplechase event, finished 11th with a time of 11:09.81.

Junior Paul Michel ended in seventh place in the 1500 meter finals, running a 3:48.17, while freshman Jarelle Johnson was 15th in the triple jump.

Trainor, Rivera and Nicks join senior Loree Smith as the Rams' NCAA qualifiers. Smith won the women's hammer throw during yesterday's competition. The NCAA Championship runs June 8-11 on the campus of Sacramento State - the site of last year's Olympic Trials.
