FORT COLLINS, Colo. The qualifying Rams will travel to Baton Rouge, Arkansas for the 2002 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship next weekend. Events begin on May 29 and end on June 1. Rob Vermillion is the only automatic qualifier for Colorado State, while 10 others have provisionally qualified in 12 events -- with Loree Smith being the only multi-qualifier (see box above). The entry lists for the NCAA Championship will be released on Thursday evening (9:00 p.m. Eastern/7:00 p.m. Mountain). The NCAA will advance a minimum of 17 individuals in each event and 10 relay teams for each relay. A total of 388 men and 388 women will advance to the NCAA Championship this year.
