OGDEN, Utah--Utah's track and field team closed out it's regular season at the All-Utah Collegiate Track and Field Challenge on Wednesday, May 9. Chantel Goldsberry earned Utah's only win of the meet with a mark of 188'09" feet in the hammer throw. Goldsberry threw 26-feet farther than the second place finisher. "I'm excited for the conference championships in San Diego because there is great competition in the hammer throw. We're within inches of each others marks and that will push me. I want to hit 191'.00" to qualify for the NCAA Championships," said Goldsberry. Mindy Wilder earned second place and set a new pr in the javelin throw with 146'05". Erianne Allen set a new pr in the javelin throw with 133'06" for third place. Alexandria Nash jumped 38'01.50" in the triple jump for a new pr and third place. Natasha Eldridge set a new pr by more than two feet with 43'50" in the shot put. "I think I'm peaking at the right time and this mark will move me up in the conference standings," said Eldridge. April Jackson earned a pair of fourths for the Utes. In the high jump she posted 5'05" and she ran 14.46 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles.

Teren Jameson grabbed third place on the men's side with 1:52.28 minutes in the 800-meter run. Jameson is ranked 18th in the nation in the 3,000-meter run with 13:15.07. The top-18 athletes in each event will compete at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Coach Mike Jones was honored during the meet for his 36-year dediation to Utah running programs. "It's close to home to finish out my career at this meet. We're on Utah soil and competing against Utah teams," said Coach Jones. Jones will coach his final meet at the MWC Championships May 17-19 in San Diego, Calif.
