Rams Earn Pair of Third Place Finishes Webber and Gourdin each finished in third place in the Glenn Morris Multi-Event Meet.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Colorado State junior Matt Webber and freshman Cristina Gourdin each finished in third place in the Glenn Morris Multi-Event Meet today. Webber placed third in the decathlon with a personal best score of 6,395, finishing behind Nick Herald -- competing unattached -- with 6,511 points and Jerry Baker from Baker University with 6,450 points. His score of 6,395 breaks his previous record of 5,790 from the same meet last season. Webber started the second day with a sixth place finish in the 110 meter hurdles after running a 16.27. He then won the discus with a throw of 114-2 and had a huge personal best in the pole vault after clearing 11-11.75. His previous best of 10-6 also came at last year,Äôs Glenn Morris Meet. In the javelin, Webber was third with a throw of 154-10, breaking his old personal best of 150-3 and then he ran a 5:05.82 in the 1500 meters to place fifth. Freshman Christian Morgan from Air Force was fourth with 5,899 points to finish behind Webber, while Bret Zowada from Wyoming was fifth with 5,702 points. Chris Sandbach, competing unattached, was sixth with 5,569 pints, while Paul Golando from the Air Force Academy was seventh with 5,381 after no heighting in the pole vault. Gourdin placed third in the heptathlon after scoring 4,378 points over two days. She placed behind Reidun Daily, competing unattached, with 4,851 points and Jennifer Hoppe from Powerbar Elite with 4,517. Current Colorado State coach Lindsay Malmgren was fourth with 4,188 points after not finishing the 800 meters. Tiffany Mensing from Colorado School of Mines was fifth with 3,179 points to round out the scoring. Gourdin started the day with a jump of 15-3.5 in the long jump to place third and then threw the javelin 84-3 to place sixth. In the final event, the 800 meters, Gourdin placed third after running a 2:32.25.
Colorado State will host the Jack Christiansen Invitational
tomorrow. Field events begin at 9:00 a.m., while the running events are
slated to start at 10:30.
