Two University of Wyoming student-athletes showed their talents off in Colorado on Saturday, while another group of Cowboys and Cowgirls took to the track against some of the nation's best in Louisiana.

Cowboy highlights
Senior Travis Gunderson won the 100-meter dash (11.04) and was fifth in the 200, 22.36. Junior Mark Flegel was eighth in the 200 (22.51) and second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.78. Sophomore Dalton Sybrant was second in the discus with a toss of 142-2.

Cowgirl highlights
Sophomore Emily Moore won the triple jump with a personal-best mark of 38-8.75. That is sixth in UW history, bettering her previous mark of 38-6. Junior Anna George was tops in the hammer throw (161-5) and third in the javelin, 121-5.

Cowboy highlights
Junior Michael Tasker was third in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.94 seconds. Junior Lenyn Leonce and freshman Jason Roascio were eighth and ninth in the 200-meter dash, while sophomore Colin Herold and junior Aaron Praska were fourth and fifth in the 400-meter hurdles.

Senior Paul Burke was 11th in the 1,500-meter run (4:03.09) and Leonce was third in the long jump with a season-best leap of 24 feet, 1.5 inches. Junior Jaymes Talkington was fourth in the triple jump, 47-6.25.

Cowgirl highlights
Sophomore Jenna Mann was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (14.31), and freshman Samantha Kee crossed the line in 24.85 seconds in the 200-meter dash. Sophomore Taylor Gardner had the highest finish of the day, finishing second in her section of the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.23.

Sophomore Erin Kirby and junior Diana Long were seventh and eighth in their 400 hurdle group, respectively. The quartet of Audrey West, Gardner, Kee and Kirby finished seventh in the 4-by-400-meter relay with a time of 3:44.97.

In the shot put, junior Mollie Dahl and freshman Shreese Daniels each set personal records. Dahl was seventh with a toss of 47-8 and Daniels was eighth, 46-10.75.

"The kids competed well in the short hurdles and did a nice job in 20-mph headwinds," Wyoming coach Don Yentes said. "They didn't have the best lanes but we were in a stiff competition. The women's 4-by-4 was great, and Dahl and Daniels did a heck of a job with personal records. Some good things happened here and I'm pretty pleased."
