COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - UNLV earned three of four Mountain West Conference Swimmer and Diver of the Week awards as senior Brandon Nelms was named men's swimmer of the week, sophomore Bailey Kustermeyer earned women's swimmer of the week and junior Wendy Williams was voted the women's diver of the week. TCU's R.J. Hesselberg was named the men's diver of the week.

A native of Puyallup, Wash., Kustermeyer turned in four top-two finishes at the UNLV Winter Invite last weekend. She won the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:17.97, increasing her MWC best time in that event. She then claimed second in the 200 individual medley in 2:05.97, placed second in the 400 IM in 4:25.87 and second in the 100 breast in 1:05.21. Her performance led the Rebels to a second place finish at the tournament.

Williams won both diving events at the UNLV Winter Invite, beginning with a win on the three-meter board with a score of 271.75 to lead 18 divers. The Las Vegas native followed with a one-meter score of 246.75 to win that event.

A native of Plano, Texas, Nelms picked up six victories in two individual events and four relays. He won both the 50 freestyle (20.42) and 100 free (44.89) before helping the 200 free relay to a winning time of 1:22.15. He then anchored the 400 medley relay to a 3:21.31 finish, anchored the 200 medley relay to a 1:31.83 clocking and swam in the victorious 400 free relay that finished in 3:00.89.

Hesselberg won the three-meter dive and placed second in the one-meter event at the UNLV Winter Invite. He posted a career-best 337.10, which is also the second-best score in TCU history, to win the three-meter dive. His score was nearly 64 points better than his closest competition and ranks third in the MWC this season. The Saskatoon, Canada, native posted a 303.00 in the one-meter dive, good for second place among 17 competitors.
