San Diego State's Storey Named MWC Women's Swimmer of the Week

Sophomore garners honor for the first time this season.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State sophomore Megan Storey has been named Mountain West Conference women's swimmer of the week.

Storey, an Edmonds, Wash., native, was victorious in two individual events last Saturday, helping the Aztecs to a dual meet victory over visiting Northern Arizona. In the 500-yard freestyle, Storey clocked in at 5:06.03, followed by a season-best time of 10:21.43 in the 1,000-yard freestyle. This is her second career swimmer of the week award.

The Aztecs return to the pool on Jan. 4, 2002 as they travel to Irvine, Calif. to compete in the Irvine Invitational.

This week in the MWC: No MWC teams are competing.
