BYU’s Savickas Named Mountain West Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week

Junior establishes three top league times at Speedo Cup.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – BYU’s Arunas Savickas was named Mountain West Conference Men’s Swimmer of the Week for his performance last week at the Speedo Cup in Long Beach, Calif.

Savickas, a junior from Panevezys, Lithuania, earns his third swimmer of the week honor this season winning the 100 back and 500 free at the 23-team Speedo Cup. His times of 48.68 in the 100 back and 4:27.36 in the 500 free are the fastest this season in the Mountain West Conference. His time of 1:45.93 in the 200 back was good for second place and also established a new conference-best.
