COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado State sophomore Chandra Engs and New Mexico senior Becca Barras have been named Mountain West Conference Women's Swimmer and Diver of the week, respectively. This is the first career award for Engs and the 12th career honor for Barras.

Engs, a Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, native, helped the Rams to dual meet victories over Northern Colorado and conference foe Air Force last weekend, claiming four first-place finishes in the process. Against the Bears, she was victorious in the 200-yard butterfly (2:14.65), 100-yard freestyle (54.22) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:11.32, season best). In CSU's conference win over the Falcons, Engs tallied a win in the 100-yard freestyle (10:47.30) and also placed fifth in the 100-yard backstroke (1:03.42).

Barras, from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, had finishes of fourth, fifth and sixth, as she competed against the nation's top divers at the Texas Invitational in Austin, Texas. She tallied a score of 271.15 to finish fourth in the 1-meter dive and a score of 481.40 in the 3-meter competition for a fifth-place finish. She concluded the meet with a score of 333.85 in the platform competition to place sixth.
