COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Utah's Jonathan Larsen and Sterling Richards have been named the Mountain West Conference Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively. Larsen picks up his fourth career swimmer of the week accolades and his first this year, while Richards earns his third honor this year and his sixth career weekly award.

Larsen, a senior from Stockton, Calif., won two individual events at the Notre Dame Invitational last weekend. He posted a time of 20.60 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle to take top honors over North Dakota's Rodrigo Ferreira (20.85). Larsen also set a new Utah school record in the 100-yard freestyle of 44.07 seconds, which also provisionally qualifies him for the NCAA meet. In addition, his time in the 100 free ranks third all-time in the MWC record book. Larsen also competed on the men's 200-yard freestyle relay team that finished second in the event (1:23.05). The senior helped the Utes win the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:01.98, edging out Notre Dame's team by 03.40 seconds.

Richards, a senior from Salt Lake City, Utah, set a new Utah school record in the 1-meter diving event by tallying 376.90 points, 48.15 points more than second place. He also won the 3-meter board event by setting another Utah school record after tallying 400.95 points, beating out Sam Stoner of Notre Dame by 49.75 points.
