COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado State seniors Kristen Schneider and Lori Vigil have been named Mountain West Conference Women's Swimmer and Diver of the week, respectively. This is the fourth career weekly honor for both recipients.

Schneider, a Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, native, had an outstanding performance at the Speedo Cup Invitational last weekend in Long Beach, Calif. Along with two first-place individual finishes at the invite, she also helped the Ram's 800 freestyle relay team to a victory, making the NCAA "B" standard qualifying times in all three events. Schneider's first victory of the invite came in the 100 backstroke, where she touched the end line in 54.81. Her time in the 100 backstroke is tops in the MWC this season, as well as second fastest in the nation and second all-time in conference history. Schneider followed with a Mountain West all-time best time (third best in the nation this season) of 158.24 in the 200 backstroke. She also led off CSU's 800 freestyle relay squad, swimming her leg in 1:49.55, which finished in a school record 7:32.97 (tops in MWC this season and fifth all-time). Schneider also swam personal best times in the preliminary rounds of the 100 butterfly (57.61), the 200 butterfly (2:07.53), both second fastest conference times this season, and the 200 individual medley (2:06.44), tops in the MWC in 2003.

Vigil, a Marietta, Ga., product, won the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events in Colorado State' dual meet win over Northern Colorado. Her score of 304.20 in the 3-meter dive qualified her for the NCAA sectional championship. Vigil also scored 277.35 in the 1-meter dive to complete the sweep.
