COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Air Force's Chris Knaute and Wyoming's John Lynch have been named the Mountain West Conference Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively. Knaute picks up his fourth career swimmer of the week accolades and his second this year, while Lynch earns his first-ever award.

Knaute, a junior from Houston, Texas, helped lead the Falcons to a second-place finish at the Speedo Cup in Long Beach, Calif., last weekend. He finished second in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 15:30.42, shaving 51 seconds off his previous season-best time and marking the fastest 1,650 free time in the conference by 30 seconds. He placed third in the 400-yard individual medley with a season-best time of 3:54.84 and placed fourth in the 500-yard freestyle with a season-best time of 4:27.89. All three of his wins at the Speedo Cup are the fastest times in the MWC this year.

Lynch, a junior from San Antonio, Texas, dove to a first and second-place finish as well as setting two personal best marks and qualifying for the NCAA Zone "E" Diving Championships in a dual meet with Colorado School of Mines on Nov. 19. He qualified for the zone diving championships on the 3-meter board with a score of 320.40 and won the 1-meter board with a score of 318.75. The 3-meter score is the fourth highest in school history, while his 1-meter total is the third-best mark in school history.
