Air Force's Brehm and BYU's Bradley Named MWC Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week Both garner honor for the first time this season.
Nov. 21, 2001 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Air Force Academy sophomore Paul Brehm and BYU freshman Andy Bradley have been named Mountain West Conference men's swimmer and diver of the week, respectively. Brehm, a Madison, Wis., native placed first in the 200-yard backstroke with a personal best time of 1:48.48 at last weekend's Minnesota Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn. While helping the Falcons to an impressive second place finish overall, he also swam the second fastest time in school history in the event. This is Brehm's first career swimmer of the week award. Bradley placed first on the 1-meter springboard and second on the 3-meter springboard in the Cougar's dual meet with Pacific last weekend in Provo. On the 1-meter, the Fairfax, Va., native turned in a score 325.05, bettering the second place finisher by 35 points. On the 3-meter, Bradley scored 335.55, one point behind All-American teammate Aaron Russell. Air Force will return to the pool on Saturday, Jan. 5 at the UC Irvine Invitational in Irvine , Calif., while BYU heads to Long Beach, Calif. to compete in the Speedo Cup on Saturday, Nov. 29.
