COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - BYU sophomore Heidi Lietz and Air Force Academy sophomore Sarah Law have been selected as the Mountain West Conference women's swimmer and diver of the week, respectively.

Lietz was the top finisher this weekend taking 1st-place in all eleven events she competed in. In a dual meet against New Mexico, Houston and Northern Arizona Nov. 9, Lietz finished first in the 50-meter freestyle, 100-meter butterfly (58.13) and was a member of the winning 200-meter medley relay team (1:48.28). The Walnut Creek, Calif. native's time of 23.81 in the 50 freestyle currently sits a top the conference's best times of the year. At the Lobo Invitational Nov. 10-11, Lietz once again dominated her competition by taking first in the 50 free (24.03), the 100 fly (57.89), 100-meter freestyle and 200-meter freestyle (1:55.69). In her team efforts the Cougars finished first in the 200- and 400-meter medley relay (1:48.15, 3:54.88) and also the 200- and 400-meter freestyle relay (1:37.83, 3:36.25). Her time of 51.82 in the 100 freestyle also leads the conference as the fastest time thus far. The Cougars walked away with team victories over each school.

Earning Diver of the Week honors for the second time this season, Law swept both the 1- and 3-meter springboard events against conference in-state rival, Colorado State. The Parker, Colo. native posted a score of 278.55 in the 1-meter event, her second best score of the year and beat out the 2nd-place finisher on the 3-meter by over 45 points with a score of 299.03.

Up Next: BYU hits the pool again Nov. 25 against UNLV and Air Force hosts Colorado College Nov. 17. Air Force also hosts San Diego State and North Texas in a dual meet Nov. 18.

Other MWC schools in action this week: Colorado State sends divers to the USC Trojan Diving Invitational Nov. 16-17 in Los Angeles while the swimmers host San Diego State, Nov. 17. UNLV heads to the Husker Shootout in Lincoln, Neb. Nov. 17-19 and Wyoming faces Denver, North Texas and the University of Northern Colorado Nov. 17.
